This is my replica of the chain of office/livery collar worn by Louis XI in the portrait "Louis XI wearing his Collar of the Order of Saint Michael, c 1469".

Louis XI (3 July 1423 – 30 August 1483), called "Louis the Prudent" (French: le Prudent), was King of France from 1461 to 1483. He succeeded his father, Charles VII. 

This is the pilgrim's scallop shell chain of office/livery collar also known as the Order of St Michael.
 
A scallop shell design with enamel hand painted detail in white and deep red, with rope wheatsheaf connectors in antique gold. Ivory glass and deep red drop pearls finished with a St Michael pendant.

My replica is made with antique gold plating on brass.

This is a unique and hand crafted item. It measures approximately 1 metre with an extension chain so you can adjust it according to your costume.
